What's New in Lodol: October

October 31, 2026·7 min read·By The Lodol Team

October changed how you build in Lodol: ask Claude, ChatGPT or @Lodol in Slack for an automation, and the workflow is built right in your workspace. It also changed how Lodol is priced, brought in AI agents and tables of your own data, and added the controls you reach for once a workflow matters. Here's what we shipped, grouped by what it lets you do.

Build by asking

  • Your AI builds it in Lodol. Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Codex or any AI tool that supports MCP, ask for an automation in plain words, and it builds the workflow in your workspace. Lodol runs it from then on. Your AI can never do more than your own role allows, and your keys never pass through the chat. See Claude and ChatGPT Can Now Build Your Automations in Lodol, and our guides to asking for a workflow that does what you meant and what MCP means.
  • Lodol for Slack. Mention @Lodol in a channel or send it a direct message, and it looks things up for you or builds the workflow you describe. Nothing that sends or changes data runs until you've seen it, and everything it does, it does as you. See Lodol for Slack.
  • A first workflow in minutes. A new account's setup now asks you to connect the AI tool you already use and watch it build your first workflow. Or follow Build Your First Workflow, From Sign-Up to First Run.
  • Deleting stays with you. AI tools and the Developer API can delete workflows only with the Delete workflows permission, which stays off until you turn it on.

Pay per run, with unlimited seats

From the start of October, every plan includes a monthly allowance of runs, and a run counts once however many steps it takes. Seats are unlimited. Free includes 100 runs a month, Builder starts at $18 a month for 2,500 runs and Pro at $120 for 10,000. The new Usage page shows this month's runs with a forecast for the rest of the month, and on Builder and Pro, Extra runs keep workflows going past the allowance, up to a spending limit you set. The details are in Pay per Run, Not per Step, and on the pricing page.

AI that does a job, with every move on the record

  • Run an AI agent. Hand a task to the model of your choice, along with the actions and workflows it may use, and get back exactly the fields you ask for. It runs on your own Anthropic, OpenAI, Gemini or other model account, and the run shows every tool call it made. See Run an AI Agent, and AI agents or workflows? for when to use one.
  • Agents with guardrails. Any of an agent's tools can ask a person to approve before it runs. An agent can hide names, emails, card numbers and other personal details from the model, and screen what it reads for instructions planted to mislead it; both are off until you turn them on. Test chat in the editor lets you try an agent step on its own.
  • More models. The OpenAI step offers the GPT-6 models, and OpenRouter, Cohere and Mistral AI each gained a full set of actions.

More ways to start a workflow

  • A web address of its own. Webhook received gives a workflow an address any service can call, and can require callers to sign their requests. See Webhooks, Explained.
  • Any inbox, any feed. Start a workflow from a new email in any mailbox over IMAP or in an Outlook folder, a new post in an RSS feed, a new event in a calendar shared as an iCal link, or another workflow failing.
  • Your business apps. New triggers start a workflow when a Stripe invoice is paid or a subscription ends, a HubSpot deal changes stage, a Jira issue changes status, a Shopify order is fulfilled, or a Typeform form gets a response. Apps that can tell Lodol when something happens now start their runs straight away, instead of at the next check.

Your data, your files and your own systems

  • Tables inside Lodol. Secrets and Values can now hold tables: upload a spreadsheet or start one empty, let workflows add, find and update rows, and start a workflow whenever a row is added or changed. See Tables: Keep Your Workflow's Data Right Inside Lodol.
  • Your own API and database. Import any API from its OpenAPI file and use its endpoints as steps, and query PostgreSQL and MySQL directly. See Bring Your Own API, Database or Web Page Into a Workflow.
  • Files and servers. Read CSV, Excel, PDF and Word files into rows or text, make files from your data, combine PDFs and zip them. Send email through your own mail server, run a command over SSH, move files over SFTP, and call a GraphQL API or a tool on any MCP server.

When something goes wrong

  • Decide what a failure does. A step can stop the run, try again with growing pauses, or carry on with the error as its value. App steps also retry on their own when an app is briefly unreachable.
  • Retry from the step that failed. A failed run can be retried from the step that failed, with the data it started with, and each workflow chooses who is told when it fails. You can also search runs by anything in them, like an order number. See When a Step Fails.
  • Nothing lost for good. Deleting a workflow, document or app moves it to the Trash for 30 days, and restoring it brings it back exactly as it was. Saving changes to a live workflow keeps its triggers on.
  • Fewer surprises. Saving a workflow catches what would go wrong when it runs and suggests the fix, a connection that needs signing in again is flagged before a run fails, and a trigger whose runs fail 25 times in a row turns itself off and says why.
  • Safer edits. Turn a step off without deleting it. And on paid plans, where version history lives, compare any two versions side by side, and name a version, like Before pricing change, so it's never overwritten.

Who sees what, and who gets in

  • Access by workflow and folder. On Pro and Enterprise, share a workflow, folder, document or app with only the people who need it, and its runs, approvals and API access follow. See Choose Who Can See Each Workflow, Folder, Document and App.
  • The right account for each step. When an app has more than one connection, every step and trigger has a Connection field, so one workflow can read from your own inbox and post from the team's account.
  • Controls for admins. Pro and Enterprise admins can choose which apps and actions workflows may use and which AI tools may connect, and turn off public links. Single sign-on now works with OpenID Connect as well as SAML. And on paid plans, the new Viewer role can see and comment without changing or running anything.
  • For Enterprise. Bring several workspaces together in one organization, with single sign-on, SCIM, security rules, billing and the audit log set up once. Workflows can read secrets from your own HashiCorp Vault, AWS Secrets Manager, Azure Key Vault or Google Cloud Secret Manager.

New apps, almost every week

Hundreds of apps joined Lodol in October, among them 24 from Zoho, from Zoho Books to Zoho Desk. For finance and HR: Oracle NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Ramp, Gusto, Workday and Rippling. For sales and marketing: Zoho CRM, Gong, Salesloft, LinkedIn and Meta Lead Ads. For support: Help Scout, Freshdesk and Gorgias. For IT and security: PagerDuty, Cloudflare, CrowdStrike and Vanta. And for everyday work: Smartsheet, Otter.ai, Google Chat, Microsoft Word and Nextcloud.

New workflows and guides

New templates forward emails that mention a keyword, find matching rows in a spreadsheet, log every line of a purchase order from Gmail, chase overdue QuickBooks invoices and send your cash and runway every Monday. And new guides cover where a small business should start, the weekly report, content for small marketing teams, online stores, recruiting, IT requests, client reporting for agencies and a startup's first ten workflows.
