What it does

Each integration step this workflow runs, in order, what it is for, and the conditions and loops that decide when it runs.

  1. 1Google SheetsNew row triggerStarts the workflow when you add a new hire's row.
  2. 2AsanaCreate taskCreates each onboarding task with its due date counted in working days from the start date.
  3. 3GmailSendTells the new hire's manager the tasks have been created.

How it works

What happens on each run, in plain English.

Onboarding tasks get missed when they depend on someone remembering. When a row is added to your New Hires sheet, this creates three Asana tasks with due dates counted in working days from the person's start date: a kickoff call after 2, IT setup after 5 and benefits enrollment after 10.

It then emails the new hire's manager so they know the tasks exist. Your sheet needs columns named Name, Start date (written 2026-11-30) and Manager email.
