A few minutes, start to finish
About 3 GB of free disk space, and an internet connection to install and to reach your apps.
Paste one command
It downloads Lodol and everything it needs, about 400 MB, into a folder in your home directory. No administrator rights, and nothing else on your computer is changed.
Lodol opens in your browser
When it has started, Lodol opens at localhost:3900. It starts again on its own when you sign in to your computer.
Make your account
The first account is the owner. Invite your team from Settings, connect your apps, and build your first workflow.
Run it from your terminal
The installer adds a lodol command. These are the ones worth knowing; lodol help lists the rest.
lodol open- Open Lodol in your browser.
lodol status- Whether Lodol is running, and whether an update is waiting.
lodol update- Install the latest version. Your data is kept.
lodol backup- Back up your workflows, runs and connected accounts to a file.
lodol stop- Stop Lodol; lodol start starts it again.
lodol uninstall- Remove Lodol. It asks before deleting your data.
What stays on your computer
Everything you build and run. Here is the one thing that leaves it.
Your data stays on your computer
Workflows, runs, tables and connected accounts are kept in a database on your computer that only your computer can reach. Sign-ins to your apps are encrypted, with the key in your computer's keychain.
Your apps are reached directly
When a workflow runs, your computer talks to Gmail, Slack or your database itself. Nothing passes through Lodol's servers.
One check a day for updates
Lodol Local asks get.lodol.com once a day whether there's a new version: a request for a text file that says nothing about you or your computer. Turn it off with LODOL_UPDATE_CHECK=off in ~/.lodol/config.env.
Free for people and small organizations
Priced by the size of your organization, not by runs: every tier has unlimited runs and workflows.

Questions about Lodol Local
Yes, for people and for organizations with less than $1 million in funding and revenue, with nothing to sign up for and no licence to paste. Organizations from $1 million to $50 million buy a licence for $5 per user a month, and larger ones for $50. Your organization's size is the greater of the total outside funding your organization has raised and its revenue over the last 12 months.
We email it to you as a file. Open Lodol, go to Settings › Licence, choose Add a licence and paste it in. It's checked on your computer; nothing is sent to us.
It's the same workflow builder, steps and integrations, running on your computer instead of ours, with no limit on runs. Lodol's cloud runs your workflows around the clock without a computer of yours staying on, and adds what needs our servers: signing in with Google, Lodol for Slack, and the AI tools that connect over the internet.
No. A workflow runs while Lodol is running, so a schedule or trigger waits for your computer. Install Lodol Local on a computer or server that stays on if your workflows need to run around the clock.
Run lodol update. Your workflows, runs and connected accounts are kept, and lodol status tells you when a new version is waiting.
Yes. Download your workflows from one and upload them to the other, then connect your apps again: connected accounts stay where they were made.
