Triggers
Start a workflow when something happens in VTEX.
- New orderRuns when an order is placed in the VTEX store, with its customer, delivery address, items and totals. VTEX lists a new order after about four minutes. Orders placed before the workflow is turned on don't start it.
- Order status changedRuns when an order reaches the status you choose, such as Ready for handling once it's paid, or Invoiced, with the whole order. Left on any status, it runs each time one of the 100 newest orders is placed or moves on. VTEX lists a change after about four minutes.
- New customerRuns when a customer profile is added to the VTEX store, such as at sign-up or a first order, with their email, name and phone. Profiles already there when the workflow is turned on don't start it.
- New or updated customerRuns when a customer profile is added or changed in the VTEX store, with the profile as it now is. Changes made before the workflow is turned on don't start it.
- New Master Data recordRuns when a record is added to a Master Data data entity, such as a newsletter sign-up or a contact form, with every field it has. Records already there when the workflow is turned on don't start it.
Actions
Steps a workflow can run in VTEX.
- List ordersList the store's orders, newest first, filtered by status, by text such as an email or name, or by when they were placed. VTEX takes a few minutes to list a new order.
- Get orderGet an order with its status, totals, customer, delivery address, items, invoices and tracking.
- Start handling orderTell VTEX the store has started preparing an order, moving it from Ready for handling to Handling.
- Cancel orderCancel an order, which refunds the customer's payment. VTEX refuses once an order is invoiced or partly invoiced.
- Send invoiceSend an order's invoice to VTEX, which marks it Invoiced and settles its payment. A return invoice refunds the customer instead. Left blank, the amount and items are the whole order's.
- Add tracking numberAdd the carrier's tracking number and link to an invoice already sent for an order, so the customer can follow the delivery.
- List categoriesList the catalog's categories, three levels deep, with their IDs.
- List brandsList the catalog's brands, with their IDs.
- Get productGet a product's details, by its ID or its reference code.
- Create productAdd a product to the catalog in a category and brand you already have. Add its SKUs with 'Create SKU'. VTEX can't delete products.
- Update productChange a product, such as its name, description or whether it's active. Fields left blank keep what it has.
- List product SKUsList a product's SKUs (its variations, such as sizes or colors).
- Get SKUGet a SKU's details, by its ID or its reference code.
- Create SKUAdd a SKU (a variation such as a size) to a product. VTEX adds it turned off; it can turn it on once it has a picture. VTEX can't delete SKUs.
- Update SKUChange a SKU, such as its name, reference code, package size or whether it's active. Fields left blank keep what it has.
- Get priceGet a SKU's base, list and cost price, and any prices fixed for a trade policy.
- Set priceSet a SKU's selling price, or its cost price and markup, and its list price. Its fixed prices stay as they are.
- List warehousesList the store's warehouses, with their IDs.
- Get stockGet how many of a SKU each warehouse has, how many are held for orders and how many can still be sold.
- Set stockSet how many of a SKU a warehouse has, or make it never run out there.
