Outlook, Excel, QuickBooks and Slack, Connected Much Deeper

September 23, 2026·4 min read·By The Lodol Team

Lodol connects to more than 750 apps, but most teams spend their days in a handful: email, a spreadsheet, the books and the team chat. Over the past few weeks we've rebuilt our connections to the ones that run most businesses, so a workflow can do almost anything there that a person can. Here's what's new, and what each one lets you hand off.

Microsoft Outlook: from 1 action to 54

Outlook used to do one thing in Lodol: send an email. Now a workflow can reply, reply all, forward, file messages into folders, set categories, create inbox rules and turn on automatic replies. It reaches your calendar too: creating and updating events, responding to invitations, checking free and busy times, and finding meeting times that work for everyone. Contacts and meeting rooms are covered as well.

For example: when you book time off on your calendar, schedule your automatic replies for exactly those dates, so you never come back to a week of "is anyone there?" emails.

Microsoft Excel: from 9 actions to 58

Excel now works the way people actually use it. A workflow can add, update and delete rows in a table, sort and filter, write values, formulas and number formats, insert and merge cells, and protect a sheet. It can create and update charts, refresh every pivot table in a workbook, and export a chart as an image.

For example: every Monday, add last week's numbers to the sales table, refresh the pivot tables, and email the team the chart as a picture they can read on a phone.

QuickBooks Online: 79 actions and 7 triggers

QuickBooks is now our deepest accounting connection. Workflows can create, send and void invoices, turn an estimate into an invoice, record and pay bills, log expenses, payments, deposits and transfers, post journal entries, raise purchase orders and credit memos, and attach files. They can pull the reports a finance team checks every week: profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow, and receivables and payables aging. And seven triggers start a workflow the moment a customer, vendor, invoice, payment, bill or estimate is created, or an invoice is paid.

For example: when an invoice is paid, thank the customer and post it in #finance, and every Monday morning, send the receivables aging report to whoever chases payments.

Slack: 79 actions and 6 triggers

Beyond sending messages, a workflow can now schedule them, message someone by their email address, post a message only one person can see, upload and share files, pin messages, add bookmarks, manage user groups, and create and edit canvases and Lists. It can even start one of your existing Slack workflows. Six triggers start a run on a new message, a mention, a new channel, a command, or an emoji reaction being added or removed.

For example: react to any message with an emoji, and a workflow turns it into a ticket and replies in the thread with the link.

Discord: 66 actions and 8 triggers

For teams that run a community, Discord now covers messages, threads, channels, roles, members and scheduled events, with triggers for new messages, reactions, members joining or being banned, new threads and forum posts, scheduled events and audit log entries.

Mercury: new, with 59 actions

Mercury, the business bank, joins the catalog with accounts, transactions, cards, recipients, payments, invoices and statements. A workflow can categorize a transaction and attach its receipt, issue or freeze a virtual card, send money or request approval for a payment, and create invoices. A trigger starts a run for every new transaction.

For example: when a transaction over $1,000 posts, share it in #finance with the merchant and amount, and ask the cardholder for the receipt.

Google Sheets, sharper

Sheets now saves what a workflow writes as if you'd typed it, so numbers stay numbers and dates stay dates, and your sums and sorts keep working. A new Update row action changes just the cells you name instead of rewriting the whole row.

And everything else

Each of these connects once, with step-by-step setup in Lodol. For anything that isn't in the catalog yet, a Call an API step can reach any app with an API, so you're never stuck waiting for a connector.
