Search and follow art on DeviantArt, the artist community with hundreds of millions of pieces of work. Search the whole site by keyword, browse by tag or by one of DeviantArt's topics, and read the staff-picked Daily Deviations for any day. Pull a single deviation in full, or the description, tags, licence, view counts, submission details and camera data behind a whole list of them in one step. Follow an artist by reading their gallery newest-first and the profile behind it. Setup is four short steps - register an application, choose the Confidential client type, paste in the redirect URI the form asks for, and copy the Client ID and Client Secret - and nobody has to sign in to DeviantArt to use it: the connection reads the public DeviantArt every visitor can see, and everything it does is read-only.

Steps your workflow can run in DeviantArt.

Search deviationsSearch DeviantArt for artwork by keyword - 'watercolour portrait', 'pixel art city'. Each result carries the deviation's title, artist, image URL, fave and comment counts, publication date and its page on DeviantArt, plus the id the other steps take. Leave the search empty to read DeviantArt's front page instead.
Browse deviations by tagThe newest artwork filed under one DeviantArt tag, such as 'digitalart' or 'watercolor', with DeviantArt's estimate of how many deviations carry it. Tags are single lower-case words, so a '#' or capitals are trimmed off and a phrase is answered with a pointer at 'Suggest tags' rather than the empty page DeviantArt would return.
Suggest tagsThe real DeviantArt tags that start with a partial word - 'water' finds 'watercolor', 'watercolour', 'waterfall'. Worth running before browsing a tag typed by a person or read from an earlier step: DeviantArt answers a tag that doesn't exist with an empty page rather than an error, so an unchecked guess looks like a subject nobody draws.
List Daily DeviationsThe Daily Deviations DeviantArt's staff featured on a given day - a hand-picked set rather than an algorithmic feed, which is what makes it worth a scheduled workflow. Each one carries the usual deviation fields plus the staff member who gave the award and the note they wrote with it. Leave the date empty for today.
List topicsThe topics DeviantArt files artwork under - Digital Art, Photography, Anime, and so on - each with a few example deviations and the canonical name that 'Browse a topic' takes.
Browse a topicThe artwork DeviantArt is currently showing under one topic. The topic is chosen from a dropdown filled with DeviantArt's own topic list, so it is always a name the API accepts.
Get deviationOne deviation in full by its id: title, artist, category, publication date, fave and comment counts, whether it is downloadable, its page on DeviantArt, and the image at every size DeviantArt renders it.
Get deviation detailsThe description, tags and licence for one or many deviations at once - the fields a deviation record itself doesn't carry. Tick the extras for view and download counts, the submission details, and the camera's EXIF data on photographs. Pass a list from any earlier step: it is split into the batch sizes DeviantArt allows and stitched back together, and any id that returned nothing is named rather than silently dropped.
List an artist's galleryEverything in one artist's public gallery, newest first - what a 'new work from the artists we follow' workflow is built on. A full profile URL or an @name is accepted in place of the username.
Get an artist's profileOne deviant's public profile: real name, tagline, country, website, biography as HTML and as plain text, their latest status, and the counts behind their account - deviations, favourites, comments, page views and watchers. Tick the extras to list their gallery and collection folders too.
