What it does

The integration steps this workflow runs, in the order it first runs them.

  1. 1TodoistList projects
  2. 2NotionQuery database
  3. 3TodoistCreate task
  4. 4NotionUpdate page

How it works

Everything the template sets up, and what to fill in before the first run.

Every hour this workflow reads your Notion planning database and creates a Todoist task for each row it has not sent across yet, carrying over the row's title and its due date.

Your database needs two properties, spelled exactly like this:

- 'Todoist task' - a Text property, left empty. This is where the id of the task created for that row is written, and it is how the workflow knows which rows have already been sent. Only rows where it is empty are picked up. - 'Due date' - a Date property. Optional: a row without one becomes a task with no due date.

The row's own title is used as the task text, whatever the title column is called.

The task is created first and the row is marked immediately afterwards. If that write-back ever fails the run stops on the spot and tells you which row, so at worst one task is created twice rather than the whole database being sent across again on the next run.

Up to 25 rows are handled per run, so a large backlog drains over the following hours instead of arriving all at once.

Fill in 'notionDatabaseId' with the id of your database. Fill in 'todoistProject' with the name of the Todoist project the tasks should go in, or leave it blank to use your Todoist Inbox.
