SAM.gov

Check the businesses, nonprofits and governments registered to work with the U.S. government: look an entity up by UEI or CAGE code, see its registration status, expiration date and integrity record, search entities, download extracts, and start a workflow when a registration is about to expire, changes status, or a new one matches a search.

Triggers

Start a workflow when something happens in SAM.gov.

  • Registration expiring soonRuns once for each active SAM.gov registration that comes within the chosen number of days of expiring: watched UEIs, or every registration in a state or NAICS code. Checks twice a day, to stay inside a personal key's 10 requests a day.
  • Registration status changedRuns when a watched SAM.gov registration changes status, such as from Active to Expired, or back when it is renewed. Each check uses one request for every 10 UEIs. Checks twice a day, to stay inside a personal key's 10 requests a day.
  • New entity registeredRuns when an entity newly registered in SAM.gov matches a search, such as a state and NAICS code. Narrow it to fewer than 30 new registrations a month. Checks twice a day, to stay inside a personal key's 10 requests a day.

Actions

Steps a workflow can run in SAM.gov.

  • Get entityLook up one entity (a business, nonprofit or government) by its Unique Entity ID: registration status and dates, addresses, business types and, if chosen, contacts, NAICS and PSC codes and its responsibility and integrity record.
  • Get entity by CAGE codeLook up one entity by its CAGE code, with the same details as 'Get entity'.
  • Search entitiesFind entities registered in SAM.gov by name, UEI, CAGE code, status, purpose, structure, business type, place, NAICS or PSC code and registration or expiration dates. Returns one page of up to 10; each page uses one of the key's daily requests.
  • Request entity extractAsk SAM.gov to make a JSON or CSV file of every entity matching a search, up to 1,000,000. SAM.gov makes it in the background; pass the token to 'Download entity extract'.
  • Download entity extractDownload the file 'Request entity extract' asked for and save it. While SAM.gov is still making it, the step says so with ready set to false; wait and run it again.
