Triggers
Start a workflow when something happens in M-Files.
- New M-Files documentRuns when a document is added to M-Files, in one class or any, with its properties and files. Documents already there when the workflow is turned on don't run it.
- M-Files object changedRuns when a document or other object changes in M-Files, once for each new version, with its properties as they are now. Choose a property to run only when that property's value changes.
- M-Files object moved to a workflow stateRuns when a document or other object enters a workflow state in M-Files, such as Approved, with its properties.
Actions
Steps a workflow can run in M-Files.
- Get vaultGet the M-Files vault the connection signs in to, and the user's id in it.
- List object typesList the vault's object types, such as Document, Project or Customer, with their ids.
- List classesList the classes of an object type, such as Contract or Minutes, or of every type.
- Get classGet a class with its properties: each one's name, type and whether it's required.

- List workflow statesList a workflow's states, such as Draft, Waiting for approval and Approved.
- List view contentsList what's in a view, as M-Files shows it: its views, folders and objects. Leave the view empty for the vault's home.
- Search objectsFind documents and other objects by their words, title, class, property values, workflow state or dates, with their properties. Returns up to 500.
- Get objectGet a document or other object with its properties, files and check-out status.

- Add commentAdd a comment to an object, shown in its comments in M-Files.
- Add fileAdd a file to a document or other object, such as an attachment. A one-file document becomes a multi-file one.
- Replace fileSave a new version of a document with a new file in place of one of its files.
- Check outCheck an object out to the connection's user, so nobody else changes it until it's checked in.
- Check inCheck in an object the connection's user has checked out, saving its changes as a new version.
- Undo check outUndo the connection's user's check-out of an object, throwing away the changes made since.
- Delete objectMark an object deleted. It disappears from searches and views; 'Undelete object' brings it back.
