Read League of Legends' game data from Data Dragon, Riot Games' official source for it: every champion with its lore, stats, abilities and skins, every item with its price, stats and recipe, and the runes, summoner spells, profile icons and maps, in any of the game's languages and for any patch since 2012. Turn the numbers in match data into names and pictures (champion 62 is Wukong, item 3031 is Infinity Edge and queue 420 is Ranked Solo), pick a random champion, find the patch a region is on, and hear about a new patch the day it lands. Any splash art or icon can be downloaded to attach. Every action reads, and no account or API key is needed.

Steps your workflow can run in Data Dragon.

Get the latest versionGet the newest Data Dragon version, like 16.19.1, with its patch and the version before it. Pass it to the other actions to pin a workflow to one patch, or schedule a workflow to compare it with the last one seen and hear about a new patch the day Data Dragon publishes it.

List versionsList the published Data Dragon versions, newest first, back to 2012. Give a version to list only the ones released after it, which is how a scheduled workflow catches every patch it missed.

Get a region's versionGet the version and default language a region's game client is on, like Europe West's or Korea's. A region can trail the newest version for a day or two after a patch, so reading data for its version shows what its players see.

List languagesList every language Data Dragon publishes its text in, with the code the other actions take, like en_US, and its name. Read from Data Dragon's own list, so a language added later shows up here.

List championsList League of Legends champions with their key, roles, resource, Riot's difficulty ratings and their portrait, splash and loading screen art. Filter by role or by text in the name or title, and sort by name or by difficulty. Every champion comes back unless a filter is set.

Get a championGet one champion in full by name, Data Dragon ID or the key match data uses: Wukong, MonkeyKing and 62 all find the same champion. Comes back with lore, tips, base stats, the passive and the Q, W, E and R abilities with their cooldowns and costs, and every skin with its splash and loading screen art. Get a random championPick a champion at random, or up to 10 different ones, from every champion or from one role. Built for a champion of the day, a random pick to play, or a challenge for a stream. Each comes back with its title, roles, blurb and art.

List itemsList the items in a map's shop with their price, summary, shop categories and icon. Summoner's Rift unless another map is chosen. Filter by category, like Boots or Ability power, or by name (shop nicknames like ie work too), and sort by name or price.

Get an itemGet one item in full by its ID from match data or its name: what it does, the stats it gives as the shop lists them, its price, and the items it builds from and into with their prices. An item Data Dragon doesn't have comes back with found false and names that look close.

List runesList the runes of every rune path (Precision, Domination, Sorcery, Resolve and Inspiration), or of one, with their IDs, what they do and their icons. Each rune says its row and keystones are marked, so a step can list the keystones alone.

Get a runeGet one rune by its name or the perk ID match data carries, like Electrocute or 8112, with its path, its row and what it does. A rune path's ID or name, like 8100 or Domination, comes back as the path. Stat shards aren't in Data Dragon, so their IDs (5001 and up) come back with found false.

List summoner spellsList the summoner spells with the number match data carries for each (summoner1Id and summoner2Id), cooldown, range, the account level they unlock at and the game modes that offer them. Choose a game mode, like Summoner's Rift or ARAM, for its spells alone.

Get a summoner spellGet one summoner spell by the number match data carries, its ID or its name: 4, SummonerFlash and Flash all find Flash. Where a game mode has its own spell of the same name, like Arena's Flash, the one in the game mode chosen wins. A spell Data Dragon doesn't have comes back with found false.

Get a profile iconGet the image of a profile icon by its ID, like the one a summoner profile carries. Data Dragon is asked whether it has the icon, so one newer than the version read comes back with found false rather than as a broken link.

List mapsList every map ID match data can carry, from Summoner's Rift (11) and Howling Abyss (12) to retired event maps, with Riot's note on each and a minimap image for the maps Data Dragon still has.

Get a queueTurn a queue ID from match data into the kind of game it was: 420 is 5v5 Ranked Solo games on Summoner's Rift and 450 is ARAM. Says when Riot has retired the queue and what replaced it. A queue Riot doesn't list comes back with found false.

List queuesList the queues match data can carry, with the map each is played on, the kind of game and Riot's notes. Retired queues are left out unless asked for.

Download an imageDownload an image from Data Dragon and store it, so a later step can attach it to an email or a message or put it in a document. Give it any image URL another Data Dragon step returned: splash or loading screen art, a champion portrait, or an item, rune, spell, profile icon or minimap image.
