How it works

At the time you choose, this reads the mail that arrived in the period you set and sends you one digest: a short read of what matters, then a separate list of what actually needs doing, one line per thing, each starting with a verb.
To get the twice-a-day rhythm, import it twice. Give one copy a morning time and a window covering the last day so you start with a plan, and the second an evening time and a window covering since the morning so nothing that landed during the day is missed. A workflow has a single schedule, so two runs at different times means two copies - which is the better shape anyway, because each copy then carries its own title, its own window and its own wording.
A quiet inbox still gets a digest. When nothing arrived in the window the message says so in one line instead of sending an empty shell, so you always know the run happened and there is genuinely nothing waiting.
Set it up by putting the address the digest should go to in the 'digestTo' step. 'digestTitle', 'mailWindow' and 'windowLabel' all ship with working defaults - change them on the second copy so the two digests read differently. 'mailWindow' is a Gmail search, so you can narrow it further (for example 'newer_than:1d is:unread', or adding '-from:notifications@example.com' to drop a noisy sender).
A message that arrives without a readable sender, subject or preview is left out and counted at the foot of the digest rather than stopping the run, and if the summary step fails the digest still arrives, carrying the plain list of what came in.
