How it works

On the schedule you set, this reads each symbol on your watchlist from a market-data endpoint you choose, and adds one dated row per symbol to a Google Sheet: the time it was recorded, the symbol, the price, the change, the currency and the timestamp the data source itself gave. Rows are appended, never overwritten, so the sheet becomes a history you can chart or look back through - which is the whole point of recording the numbers on a schedule instead of checking them by hand.
It records data and nothing else. It will not tell you to buy, sell or hold, will not rate anything, will not give a price target or a forecast, and will not say whether a number is good or bad - that judgement is yours. The one model step in it is a transcriber: it is given the raw response and asked for four fields, and is explicitly told not to estimate, convert, compare or comment. Every row carries a note saying the figures are recorded, not advice, so that boundary travels with the sheet rather than living only here.
You supply the data source rather than the workflow assuming one. Paste the address of the endpoint you already use into the 'quoteUrl' step with the word SYMBOL where the ticker belongs, for example https://your-data-source.example/quote?ticker=SYMBOL, and each symbol on your watchlist is put in its place in turn. If the address needs a key, keep it in the address you paste - the endpoint address is never written into the sheet, because a market-data URL usually carries one.
A reply that does not come back as the four fields asked for is kept verbatim in the Notes column with the figure columns left empty, so a price is never invented to fill a gap. A symbol whose endpoint fails is named in the report and skipped; the rest of the watchlist is still recorded. Fill in 'watchlist', 'quoteUrl' and 'spreadsheetUrl' to start. 'emailReportTo' is optional: leave it empty to keep the run to the sheet, or add an address to have the same plain report emailed after each run.
