Triggers

Start a workflow when something happens in PEGELONLINE.

  • PEGELONLINE Reading Rises Above a MarkTriggers when a gauge's reading, such as its water level, rises above a mark, once per crossing
  • PEGELONLINE Reading Falls Below a MarkTriggers when a gauge's reading, such as its water level, falls below a mark, once per crossing

Actions

Steps a workflow can run in PEGELONLINE.

  • List gauging stationsList the gauges on Germany's federal waterways, narrowed by river or canal, by name, by what they measure, around a place, or along a stretch of river. Each comes with its ID for the other steps, its river kilometre and what it measures.
  • Get a gauging stationGet one gauge: where it is, who runs it, everything it measures with the latest reading of each, the height of its zero, and any note about a fault.
  • List watersList the rivers, canals and seas PEGELONLINE has gauges on, with how many gauges each has and the code the other steps take.
  • Get current levels along a riverGet the latest reading at every gauge along one river or canal, upstream first, each marked low, normal or high against its own mean water levels. One step answers 'how is the Rhine doing today'.
  • Get the current readingGet a gauge's latest reading, such as the water level, with how old it is, whether it is low, normal or high against the gauge's own mean levels, and for a water level its height above sea level.
  • Get readings over a periodGet a gauge's readings over a period of up to 31 days, newest first, with the lowest, highest and average reading and how much it changed. Readings come every 15 minutes at most gauges and every minute on the coast.
  • Get a gauge's reference levelsGet the levels a gauge's readings are judged against: the lowest and highest on record, mean low, mean and mean high water, the highest level shipping may run at and the high water marks, each explained in English, with how far the current reading is above or below it.
  • Get a chart of readingsGet the address of PEGELONLINE's own chart of a gauge's readings over a period, as a PNG image to put in an email or a message. Coastal gauges also show the predicted tide.
  • Get a water level forecastGet the water level forecast for the next few days at one of the 40 or so gauges that publish one on the Rhine, Elbe, Danube and Oder: a forecast for about two days and a less certain estimate beyond, with who made it and when.
  • Get checked daily readingsGet the checked water levels a shipping gauge publishes at fixed times each day, with the change since the day before. These are the figures the inland shipping notices use.
  • Get fairway depths on the Elbe and OderGet the daily fairway depth, or the deepest a ship may lie, on one section of the Elbe, the Oder or their waterways, as published for shipping. A day the section was closed or not reported says so.
