Triggers
Start a workflow when something happens in Digitraffic.
- New road traffic messageTriggers when Fintraffic publishes a new road traffic announcement, roadworks, weight restriction or exempted transport, optionally only on one road or in one municipality
- Train running lateTriggers when a passenger train's departure from a station, or its arrival where it ends, is running late by at least the minutes you choose, once per train and day
Actions
Steps a workflow can run in Digitraffic.
- Get a station's departures and arrivalsGet the next trains leaving or arriving at a Finnish railway station, like the departure board: the time, the train and where it is going, the track, and whether it is on time, late or cancelled, with the official reason for a delay. Use it for a morning commute message, a station display or an alert.
- Find trains between two stationsFind the trains that run from one station to another: when each leaves and arrives, how long it takes, the track and any delay or cancellation. Leave the date empty for the next trains from now, or pick a day to see its whole timetable.
- Get a train's timetable and delaysFollow one train by its number: every station it calls at with the timetabled, estimated and actual times, the track, how late it is now, where it last stopped and stops next, and why it is late. A train that does not run that day comes back as not found rather than as an error.
- Get a train's carriagesSee how a train is made up: its locomotives, each carriage in order with the car number printed on tickets, and which cars have the restaurant, the play area, the pet space or wheelchair spaces, leg by leg. Use it to tell a traveller which car to head for.
- Get a train's locationFind where a running train is right now: its GPS position, speed, the nearest station and a map link. A train that is not running comes back as not found.
- List station announcementsList the announcements currently shown on station screens and read out over the speakers: replacement buses, the reason a train is late, track work notices and changes on board, in English, Finnish or Swedish. Narrow it to one station or one train.
- List railway stationsList Finland's railway stations with their short codes and coordinates, narrowed by name. Use it to turn a place name into the code the other rail actions take, or to map stations.
- List road traffic messagesList the current messages from Finland's road traffic centre: traffic announcements (accidents, closures, poor driving conditions), roadworks, weight restrictions or exempted transports, newest first, optionally on one road or in one municipality. Titles and details are in Finnish, as Fintraffic publishes them.
- Get a road traffic messageGet one road traffic message in full by its id: where and when, what is happening, the restrictions, each phase of a roadworks with its working hours, and the traffic centre to contact. The id comes from 'List road traffic messages' or the trigger.
- Get road weatherRead a roadside weather station: air and road surface temperature, whether the road is dry, wet or icy, the station's own warning, precipitation, wind, visibility and friction, updated every few minutes. Use it to warn drivers or plan winter maintenance.
- Get weather camera picturesGet the latest pictures from a roadside weather camera, one for each way it looks, with when each was taken. The links are JPEGs refreshed about every ten minutes, ready to post or attach.
- Get traffic volume and speedRead a traffic counting station: how many vehicles passed in each direction in the last hour and at what average speed, and the rate and speed right now, against the usual free-flowing speed. Slow traffic here means a queue.
- Get road condition forecastGet Fintraffic's road condition forecast for a main road, section by section: the surface now and in 2, 4, 6 and 12 hours (dry, wet, frost, ice, snow), the road temperature, and whether driving conditions are poor. Use it to warn before a drive or a delivery run.
- Find ships near a placeFind the ships near a point in Finnish waters from their AIS broadcasts: name, kind of ship, whether it is moving, moored or at anchor, speed, course, destination and distance, nearest first.
- Get a shipGet one ship by its MMSI, the radio identity every ship broadcasts: its name, IMO number, kind, size and draught, destination and expected arrival, and its latest position, speed and status with a map link.
- List port callsList the ships calling at a Finnish port: the ones expected to arrive or leave in the coming hours, or the ones that arrived or left recently, with the times, harbour and berth, where they come from and go next, and their agent.
- List faults in navigation aidsList the reported faults in Finland's buoys, lights, leading marks and other aids to navigation: what is wrong (unlit, missing, off station, damaged), where, and whether it has been fixed. Narrow it to a sea area, watercourse or fairway.
