How it works
Everything the template sets up, and what to fill in before the first run.
Attachments that matter - invoices, signed contracts, statements, reports - arrive by email and then stay in the inbox, where nobody can find them a month later. This runs every hour, and for each sender you nominate it takes the attachments off their most recent email and saves every one into a Google Drive folder you choose.
You name the senders rather than filing everything, because that is what makes the folder worth having: the supplier who emails invoices and the bookkeeper who returns them, not every signature image in your inbox. Each attachment keeps its own file type, so a PDF lands in Drive as a PDF and a spreadsheet as a spreadsheet.
Once an email's attachments are filed the email is labelled 'Filed to Drive', and the next run checks that label before downloading anything - so a second run over the same mail files nothing twice. A sender whose search fails, an attachment that will not upload, or a folder the connected account cannot write to are each reported and skipped, and the rest of the senders still go through. Every run ends with a list of what was filed and where it went.
Set it up in two steps: put the sender addresses in 'senders', separated by commas, and paste the destination folder's link into 'driveFolderUrl' (open the folder in Drive and copy the address bar - it contains '/folders/'). The label name lives in the 'filedLabel' step if you want something other than 'Filed to Drive'.
One thing worth knowing: Gmail hands over the attachments of a sender's most recent email, so this files the latest message from each sender rather than working through a backlog. Run it hourly and it keeps up with mail as it arrives.
