How it works
Everything the template sets up, and what to fill in before the first run.
Every day this workflow reads new product feedback, sorts each piece into one of the themes you define and judges its tone, writes the result to a separate tab, and posts a short rollup to your product channel.
The themes are yours. Feedback that fits none of them is filed as Other rather than forced into the nearest one, because a theme list that quietly absorbs everything stops telling you anything. The tone judgement is instructed not to soften: feedback that reads as frustrated is recorded as negative.
Each item is written to the sorted tab as it is handled, before any rollup is attempted, so a failure in the summary costs you the commentary and never the sorted feedback. The rollup is instructed to work only from what is in front of it - it will not infer how many users are affected or how important something is, which is the judgement you are reading it to make.
It posts on quiet days too. A rollup that goes silent is indistinguishable from one that has broken.
The feedback tab is expected to have a Feedback column. To set it up, paste the spreadsheet URL, list your themes, and choose a Slack channel.
