How it works

Everything the template sets up, and what to fill in before the first run.

You nominate the mail you never read - by sender address, by subject word, or both - and every six hours this workflow finds it in your inbox, labels it, and archives it.

Nothing is ever deleted. Archiving only removes the Inbox label, so every message it touches stays in All Mail and stays searchable, and the label it applies first means one search brings the whole lot back if a rule turns out to be too broad.

Rules are matched as whole values, not loose text. A sender rule of 'news@shop.example' clears mail from that exact address and ignores a lookalike such as 'news@shop.example.attacker.test'. A subject rule matches only as a whole word or phrase, so 'sale' clears 'Weekend sale' and leaves 'Wholesale pricing' alone. Display names are stripped before comparison, so 'Shop News <news@shop.example>' matches the plain address.

One run archives at most 25 messages ('maxToArchive'), so a mistyped rule cannot empty an inbox before you notice. It reads the 50 newest matching inbox messages each run ('inboxScanLimit'), so a large backlog clears over successive runs. A message it cannot read is left in the inbox and noted rather than acted on.

To set it up: list the addresses in 'clutterSenders' and the subject words in 'clutterSubjects' - comma-separated, and either one on its own is fine - then name the label in 'labelName'. The label is created the first time it is used.
