How it works
Everything the template sets up, and what to fill in before the first run.
Write what you want to see - 'monthly revenue this year', 'orders by region', 'share of spend by supplier' - and run it. The workflow reads the column headings and one example row from the tab you name, works out which column holds the labels, which holds the numbers and which chart suits the question, draws the chart, and appends a row to your answers tab with the question, the columns used and a permanent link to the image.
It charts the numbers you already have and nothing else. The columns chosen must be columns that tab actually has, and the column read must be headed by the name that was chosen, or the run stops rather than plotting the wrong data. A cell that cannot be read as a number is left off and counted, and that count is written next to the chart - no value is ever guessed, and no reading is quietly dropped.
Thousands separators are handled properly: a cell reading 1,240 plots as one point worth 1240, and a label like 'Aug 4, 2026' stays one label rather than splitting in two.
Set it up with your spreadsheet link, the tab holding the data (its first row must be the headings), your question, and an existing tab to record answers on. Data is only ever read; the only thing written is one new row on the answers tab. The tab's columns must be within A to Z, and at most 60 points are plotted.
Start from a workflow that already works.
