How it works

Everything the template sets up, and what to fill in before the first run.

Works down a list of companies in a Google Sheet and, for each one, finds the company's own web page, reads it, and records what that page says the company sells and who it sells to. Every run appends to a separate tab - your list itself is never overwritten.

It records observations, not verdicts. Alongside the B2B/B2C column it keeps the phrase from the page that supports it, and every row carries the address of the page it was read from, so you can check any entry in a click. Nothing is filled in from what a model already knows about a company: if the page does not say something that cell is left empty, and a company with no readable page gets a row with every research column blank and a note saying so. A confidently wrong industry is worse than an empty cell, because it travels into whatever you do next.

Set up: paste your spreadsheet address into the 'sheetUrl' step. The sheet needs a tab named Companies whose first row is a header containing a Company column, and optionally a Website column - a full https:// address there is read directly and skips the search. Results are appended to a tab named Company research in this column order: Checked on, Company, Sells to, Evidence for that, Industry, Who they say they serve, What they say they offer, Source, Notes. Those column names are fixed: the workflow reads Company and Website by name, so renaming them stops it finding them.

It runs once a day and researches at most 10 companies each time - change 'maxCompaniesPerRun' to move that. Companies already listed on the Company research tab are skipped, so it picks up where it left off.
