How it works
Everything the template sets up, and what to fill in before the first run.
Every hour this workflow reads the recent mail in your inbox, looks each sender up in Odoo, and — when the address belongs to a lead or an opportunity — writes a short summary of the email into that record's chatter. The CRM then reflects the conversation without anyone copying it across by hand.
The lookup is deliberately narrow and is what makes this safe to run on a whole inbox: it searches the Odoo 'crm.lead' model — the model behind both Leads and Opportunities — on the standard 'Email' field (email_from), and takes the most recently updated match. Mail from an address Odoo does not know is left completely alone. Nothing is ever created, renamed or overwritten in your CRM: the only thing written is a new chatter message on an existing record, so an unexpected match costs you a note you can delete, not a bad record.
Each filed message is labelled in Gmail (by default 'Filed to Odoo') and that label is excluded from the search, so the same email is never summarised twice. If the label cannot be applied the run says so and names the message.
Set it up by saying what each note should capture in the 'noteBrief' step. You can also adjust the Gmail label, how far back to look, and how many messages to read per run.
Start from a workflow that already works.
