How it works
Everything the template sets up, and what to fill in before the first run.
Names, email addresses and phone numbers arrive buried in prose - meeting notes, a conference list someone pasted in, a forwarded thread. Point this at the Google Doc holding that text and every person whose contact details are written in it becomes a row on your spreadsheet.
Rows are only ever appended, and the columns are fixed in this order: Found on, Name, Email, Phone, Source document, Notes. Give your tab those headings before the first run.
The one thing this will not do is invent a contact. Every email address and phone number is checked against the text of the document before it is written, character for character, and anything that is not there is dropped instead of saved - because an address that was never written down is a message to a stranger. Email addresses are checked for a valid shape as well. A name that does not appear the way it was reported is left blank rather than reshaped, and the Notes column says so.
That strictness cuts both ways: a phone number the reader rewrote into another format will not match the page and is dropped too. The run finishes by saying how many people were offered, how many were written, and how many were dropped and why, so nothing goes missing quietly. Nothing is contacted - the details are only written where you pointed them.
Fill in 'notesDocument', 'spreadsheetUrl' and 'tabName'. 'maxContacts' caps how many rows one run may write.
Start from a workflow that already works.
