MetaCPAN
Look up CPAN, Perl's module archive, through MetaCPAN: search modules, get a module's latest version and documentation, a distribution's releases, dependencies, the distributions that depend on it, its Changes file, contributors, ++ votes, issue counts and known security advisories, CPAN authors and their releases, who may upload a module, and what was released recently.

Triggers
Start a workflow when something happens in MetaCPAN.
- New release of a CPAN distributionRuns when a new version of a distribution is released on CPAN, with its version, author, upload time, abstract and download link. Stable releases only unless you choose otherwise.
- New CPAN release by an authorRuns when a CPAN author uploads a new release of any of their distributions, with its version, upload time, abstract and download link. Stable releases only unless you choose otherwise.
Actions
Steps a workflow can run in MetaCPAN.
- Search CPANSearch CPAN the way metacpan.org does: modules and their documentation, best match first, one result per distribution, each with its best matching module, abstract, author, version and ++ votes. Start the text with author:ETHER, dist:Moose or module:Try::Tiny to narrow it.
- Suggest module namesList the modules whose names start with some text, as metacpan.org suggests them while you type: up to 100, each with its distribution, latest release and author.
- Get a moduleGet a module's latest version on CPAN: its version, abstract and description, the distribution and release it is in, who uploaded it and when, whether it is deprecated, its distribution's ++ votes and the download link.
- Get a module's documentationGet a module's documentation from its latest release as Markdown, plain text, HTML or POD, ready to save, send or hand to an AI step.
- Find a download linkFind the release of a module or distribution that best matches a version or a range of versions, as the cpanm installer does, with its download link and checksums.
- Get module permissionsSee who may upload new versions of up to 100 modules: each one's owner and co-maintainers, by PAUSE ID, and the names CPAN has no permissions for.
- Get a releaseGet a distribution's latest release, or one version of it, in full: version, date, author, license, the oldest perl it runs on, its repository and bug tracker, the modules it provides, how many dependencies it has, its CPAN Testers results, checksums and download link.
- List a distribution's releasesList every release of a distribution, newest first, with its version, date, author, maturity and whether it is still on CPAN, optionally stable or developer releases only.
- List a release's dependenciesList the modules a release needs, with the version of each, when (runtime, configure, build, test, develop) and how much (requires, recommends, suggests, conflicts), plus the oldest perl it runs on.
- List dependent distributionsList the distributions whose current release requires a distribution (any of its modules) or one module, newest release first or by name, with how many there are in all.
- Get the Changes fileRead a release's Changes file: the notes for that release, the newest entries each with its version, date and text, and the whole file. Good for posting release notes.
- List a release's contributorsList everyone a release credits as an author or contributor, with their PAUSE ID when they are a CPAN author and the email address the release gives.
- Get distribution statsGet a distribution's health: how many distributions depend on it directly and in all, its bus factor, its open and closed issues in RT and GitHub, its GitHub stars and the operating system packages that ship it.
- Count ++ votesCount the ++ votes MetaCPAN users have given up to 100 distributions, to compare them, with the names CPAN has no distribution for.
- List the most ++ voted distributionsList the distributions MetaCPAN users have given the most ++ votes, up to the top 100, with each one's count.
- List security advisoriesList the known security advisories for a distribution, most recently reported first, with their CVE IDs, the versions they affect and what the problem is. Give a version to see only those that affect it.
- Get an authorGet a CPAN author's profile by PAUSE ID: name, email addresses, websites, city and country, accounts elsewhere (GitHub and others) and how many releases they have on CPAN.
- Search authorsFind CPAN authors by name, PAUSE ID or the name of an account elsewhere (such as GitHub), 10 a page, each with their PAUSE ID, email, website and country.
- List an author's releasesList a CPAN author's releases: every one, newest first, or the latest release of each of their distributions, by name.
- List recent releasesList the newest releases on CPAN, newest first, optionally only first releases of new distributions, stable or developer releases only, or those uploaded between two dates.
